Jovita Wysocka Ahava is an estate planning, probate, and injury law attorney in Florida with 25 years of legal experience. She is based in the Tampa Bay area (Clearwater and St. Petersburg) and represents clients along the West Coast of Florida from New Port Richey to Naples, as well as Orlando, Pompano Beach, and Miami. Jovita is a fluent Polish-speaking attorney and has the honor of representing many Polish clients throughout Florida.
A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Jovita honed her legal skills in Massachusetts as well as large litigation firms in New York City and the Washington, D.C. area. She has practiced law in the areas of estate planning, probate, and personal injury in Florida for the past 20 years.
As an attorney dedicated to serving individuals and families, Jovita is passionate about helping clients create thoughtful estate plans that protect their assets and ensure a lasting legacy for future generations. Jovita is also active in the Polish communities of the West Coast of Florida. She serves as Vice President of the Polish American Society of St. Petersburg, Florida, and she is a proud member of several other Polish organizations in the state.
Additionally, as a former ballet dancer in Boston, Jovita is active as a pro bono attorney in the local arts community in St. Petersburg, Florida and served as Secretary of the board of the Warehouse Arts District Association. Jovita’s further community involvement includes editing and contributing articles on personal injury law and other legal topics for various legal publications.
Jovita has also served as Vice President, board member, and volunteer of Community Law Program in St. Petersburg, Florida, which provides free legal services for the underprivileged. Jovita is also a long-time member and Public Relations Director for the Pinellas chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (PFAWL). Additionally, Jovita taught law classes at St. Petersburg College for several years as well as serving as a guest speaker on the law for various legal, paralegal, arts, and civic organizations.
She works on Estate Planning, Wills, Trusts, Trust and Probate Administration, Auto Accidents, Personal Injury, Nursing Home Negligence, Wrongful Death, and Product Liability cases.
